Morning Goat Hike

Sun April 25, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

$5 – $15

Come out to the farm this April for a morning hike through the Ten Apple Farm woods with our herd of Alpine dairy goats!

A Ten Apple Farm goat hike is a two hour educational and recreational goat experience. The winter hike consists of an approximately one mile loop through the woods on lightly groomed trails. There is some steep terrain. Children must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by an adult. (Children 4 and under must be carried, children 5-6 should plan to hold a adult’s hand during the hike). Along the way we’ll talk about the wide variety of things goats are used for, including dairy, fiber, land management, as pack animals, and you’ll learn a thing or two about raising and caring for goats. After the hike, you’ll be able to sample some fresh goat milk and cookies!

$15 per adult, $10 for teens & seniors, $5 for kids (ages 5-12).*

PLEASE READ:  IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT GOAT HIKING DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve made some important changes to our hikes. Our primary concern is safety, for our guests, our animals, and ourselves. With this in mind, for the foreseeable future we will:
  • Ask all visitors to wash their hands upon arrival at our new outdoor sink
  • Keep our experience outdoors as much as possible—please use the bathroom before arriving at the farm! (Our home bathroom will be available to guests in an emergency; a mask must be worn inside.)
  • Require visitors to wear masks when visiting the farm and interacting with our animals. (Visitors maintaining proper social distancing from other hikers and animals may remove masks while hiking.)
  • Limit public hikes to a maximum of 15 guests*
  • Serve milk outdoors in disposable cups, with fresh cookies in individual bags
  • Fully refund any cancellation for illness, up to the scheduled time of the hike
  • Our safety waiver is now available online — by purchasing a ticket, you agree to the waiver for yourself and all members of your party, including any minors in your party. We ask that you share the waiver with everyone that will accompany you to the farm.
Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to end our hikes with a goat milking lesson in the barn—we will resume this fun piece of the goat hiking experience as soon as we can!

Postponement due to weather: We can’t take the goats out if it’s raining. We will be watching the weather and temperature forecast in the days leading up to the hike and will let you know within 24 hours of the hike time whether the hike is a go or not.

Cancellation policy: If we have to postpone the hike due to weather, we will reschedule you on the next available hike, schedule a new make up date for the hike, or offer you a refund. If you cancel at least 7 days prior to the hike date we can offer you a full refund. If you are not feeling well on the day of the hike, please let us know, stay home, and we will fully refund your tickets. Other than for reasons of illness, we can’t issue refunds without at least 7 days notice.

*A glitch in our ticketing software lists the TOTAL number of tickets available under each kind of ticket. The number listed is the TOTAL tickets available, not the amount of each adult, teen/senior, or child tickets individually available. We apologize for any confusion and are working on fixing this issue.
