Whether you’re an enthusiastic mathematician\, a precise baker\, or just someone who loves a good pie\, come celebrate the mathematical magic of 3.14159 at Community Plate’s first annual Pi(e) Day Celebration and Fundraiser\, on March 14 (3.14)\, at the Smith Center at Wolfe’s Neck Center in Freeport. \nThis pie-centric potluck will feature sweet and savory pastries\, pie-themed stories\, and an epic (silent & live) auction of spectacular pies by some of Maine’s very best professional and home bakers and other notable Mainers. Storytellers will be telling pie stories\, and possibly pi stories! This ap-pie-tizing event is a fundraiser for Community Plate—tickets are a suggested donation of $31.41 (but as always\, there is a pay-what-you-can option as we believe that cost should not be a barrier to participation in community).
