We’re coming to the end of a long and busy week–made longer and busier by the fact that Karl threw out his back, leaving only one grown-up on barn duty. We’re looking forward to a quiet weekend on the farm, punctuated by napping, seed ordering, and assembling our crate of mushroom spores and sterilized straw (updates on our adventures in mycology to come).

Last weekend was anything but quiet! We hosted two workshops on the homestead: a fun intro to bread baking on Saturday, and David Homa’s amazing pruning class on Sunday. If we’re feeling ambitious–and Karl’s back is up for it–we’ll celebrate Presidents’ Day in the orchard, trying out some new techniques.
